Grand Teton National Park Engagement Photos

Apr 4, 2024

Oak and Tyler are van-lifers who are passionate about the mountains, film, and travel. When they hired me to photograph their microwedding in Big Sur, we discussed where we could take their engagements as well. Here it came up that they wanted to have Grand Teton National Park engagement photos!

I immediately sent over my extensive location guide so that we could explore places that specifically spoke to them. They ended up choosing my favorite lake in the park and one of the more jagged views of the peaks. Because it was early spring (the end of May, for context), nothing had quite greened up yet, and we were threatened by rain clouds.

With the chilly spring weather and dark clouds, we had the entire park to ourselves. Oak and Tyler ran up and down the empty roads, climbed an old fallen tree in a little glen, and shot lots on Tyler’s analog camera. He is a landscape film photographer and actually taught me a lot of what I know about film! Then, as the light of the evening faded, the Grand made an appearance for one of the most electric sunsets of my life. We ended the night at Mormon Row, watching the last of the sun’s colors seep out of the sky.

If you’re a mountain lover, it’s a need to have your engagement shot in Grand Teton National Park. You will find no shortage of epic and awe inspiring views, no matter the season or area of the Tetons you find yourself in.

Beyond that, if you are considering getting married here in Jackson Hole, read my guide on the best time of year to elope in the Tetons! I have so many resources for anyone considering both eloping and having engagements in Grand Teton National Park. It is truly a gem on earth and I could spend all my time in these mountains shooting love stories like this one.

For other seasons I have shot Grand Teton National Park engagement sessions, check out the blog!
